Speaker Submissions are now closed. Thanks to all those who applied.
The centerpiece of any WordCamp is the presentations and for presentations, we need speakers!
This is where you come in!
Why Speak?
Speaking at a WordCamp takes a little work but can be a very rewarding experience. You get to share your passion and help everyone learn a little more about WordPress.
What we’re looking for
The ideal topic for a WordCamp presentation is one that the speaker is passionate about, well acquainted with and can talk about with confidence. Presentations should be clear, coherent and and detailed as well as being accompanied by interesting and engaging slides.
Designers, bloggers, businesses and developers are all welcome to apply!
We have two speaker tracks, a User track and a Developer track so topics can vary from beginner to advanced, from design to development or SEO. Almost any topic is welcome as long as it relates to WordPress, we’d love to hear about it.
The deadline for speaker applications is coming soon, so fill in the application below and we’ll get back to you as soon as possible.
Presentation length should either be about 30 minutes, with 10-15 minutes at the end for questions. Additionally, there is the option for a lightning talk, which is 10 minutes long.
If you’d like to propose multiple topics, please submit the form multiple times, once for each topic.
Please be as descriptive as possible about your talk – remember this is the part that attendees will be reading when deciding which talk they would like to go to.
Flights, Accommodation & Tickets
WordCamp Sydney runs as a not-for-profit event and we do not have the funds to cover speaker expenses such as accommodation or flights. However, if your submission is picked you will receive a complimentary entire conference ticket via a one-time discount code.
Please note, we might choose topics based solely on the title and description, not on your bone fides, please provide a suitable description.
